Hello everyone! Today I will be reviewing the new E.L.F Studio Ambient Palette. I was able to snag this awesome product when it was first introduced and even had a coupon code for free shipping. Talk about a deal! You can purchase this palette for $6 on E.L.F's website which you can click here and for my readers that are interested in the palette's ingredients, you can check out the picture below!

Talc, Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Dimethicone, Silica, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Boron Nitride, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Ve), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742)

I have been on a hunt for a palette that would be similar to the Ambient Lighting Palette from Hourglass. It's definitely a high end product that a lot of us may be hesitant to purchase so a cheaper alternative is great news! The palette comes in the same black packaging as the studio blush palettes. I love the packaging because it's perfect for travel and the full size mirror is super convenient to see what you're doing as you're applying your makeup. The palette contains four colors:Top Left: YellowTop Right: PinkBottom Left: NeutralBottom Right: GoldAt first glance I thought that the yellow and gold highlighters in the palette would be perfect for me and I didn't expect much from the pink and neutral colors. But I was pleasantly surprised! The pigmentation is just as amazing as the studio blush palettes. As a woman of color I use a light hand to apply these highlighters because it's very easy to overdo it and no one wants to look like a disco ball, especially if you have oily skin.

Swatches from left to right: Yellow, Pink, Neutral, and Gold

At first glance the colors look very similar but when applied to the cheeks with your blush of choice, this palette not only compliments the blush but your overall complexion as well.

However if you are looking for the highlighters to provide color to your cheeks and skipping out on blush then this may not be the palette for you.

Here are heavier swatches but I would definitely recommend using a light hand at first to know how much product to use.

Here are the swatches blended out. As you can see the shades are very delicate for a soft and natural look, but you can build it up if you'd like and the product isn't chalky at all!

Overall I think this is an amazing palette for the price! I have not seen a lot of drugstore powder highlighters let alone an entire palette that offers a great variety of colors and great pigmentation.

The only downside is that I wish that the colors were a little bit more pigmented to give you the option of not wearing blush, but if you're using it with your blush then this palette is amazing.

My Rating: 4/5

E.L.F has had a few issues with shipping out this product but if you happen to get a hold of it as well, let me know your thoughts in the comment section!
